The Economic and Financial Crimes
Commission (EFCC) has seized an $18 million house with furnishing
worth $2 million belonging to former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke which she allegedly bought with stolen funds.
The house which is located in Asokoro, Abuja also has a bulletproof gym.
The report, published by Al Jazeera says the building is part of the $10.3 billion worth of assets and cash recovered by the anti-graft body.
EFCC boss, Ibrahim Magu
said “We have been able to take on a lot of big shots that were
hitherto untouchable… in the military and political class. In the areas
of convictions, we have made tremendous progress. We have recorded 164
convictions in just one year”.
Also on display were jewelry and cash recovered from corrupt public officers.
