The ex-wife of murder suspect Arthur Simpson-Kent has told how he turned
from a ‘kind, quiet gentleman’ into a depressed, jealous thug who beat
her and their baby daughter.
Dominique Deblieux, 42, said her ex-husband – who is suspected of
murdering EastEnders actress Sian Blake and their two young sons – also
took steroids and was a member of a black supremacist cult.
She told the Mail how the couple divorced in 2008 after she grew tired of supporting him financially.
But he left her and their daughter Isis, now 18, destitute after racking up £40,000 of debt in her name.
Speaking from her home in southern France yesterday, Miss Deblieux said
she was ‘horrified’ to learn what her former husband, 48, is suspected
of.
But she said it was her daughter who had been most affected, saying she
was ‘traumatised’ to hear her father is a suspected triple killer.
According to Miss Deblieux, Mr Simpson-Kent has fathered eight children
by six women, including Miss Blake – whose body and those of her sons
Zachary, eight, and Amon, four, were found buried in the family’s garden
in Erith, south east London, on Tuesday.
The suspect is now believed to be on the run in Ghana.
‘My daughter is heartbroken,’ said Miss Deblieux. ‘She was already so
upset that he rejected her all her life and now this is like stab
through the heart.’
But despite revealing her ex-husband’s violent past, she said she could
not believe he was a killer, saying: ‘When I heard the news, I was
completely shocked – I thought “have I been living with a child
murderer?”’
‘Beating, yes, but killing, cold blooded murder, and killing children, I can’t believe it.’
Discussing his current whereabouts, she said: ‘I think he will be in
Ghana. Even with me, he always wanted to go back to Ghana. But I think
he may kill himself before they find him. I hope he does.’
